The “Doing Business 2020” report, which was based on criteria for investment facilities, showed Morocco's progress to rank the 53rd place among the most attractive investment destinations.

Morocco advanced seven ranks in the “Doing Business 2020” report compared to the 2019’s report, ranking the 53rd out of 190 countries worldwide. In 2010, Morocco ranked 114th out of 183 economies at that time in the Doing Business report issued by the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation.

The Moroccan economy comes first in North Africa, and third in the MENA region, after the UAE which ranked 16th in the world & Bahrain which is the 43rd. Morocco is betting on progressing in the 2021 report, to be included in the list of the 50 best economies in the world.

The economic consequences of the outbreak of the Corona pandemic slowed Morocco's steps towards improving the business environment and entering the list of the top 50 economies around the world in the field of doing business. The Moroccan government has focused since 2010 on improving investment, as it has formed the National Committee for Business Climate in the country, which reports to the Presidency of the Government and specializes in proposing measures that would improve the climate and the legal framework for business.
